Dr. Barry Levenson was born in Montreal, Canada. He completed his medical school training at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. His Internal Medicine residency was accomplished at the University of California-San Diego School of Medicine. Thereafter, he completed his Fellowship training in Gastroenterology at the Harvard-New England Deaconess Hospital/Lahey Clinic program in Boston, Massachusetts. Post-fellowship training was undertaken in Lyons, France where he studied advanced techniques in therapeutic ERCP, a technique used for evaluation and treatment of complex liver and pancreatic disorders. He has lived in Whatcom County since 1990. He is married and has two children and four dogs. Some of his interests include snow skiing, water skiing, and classical music.
