Dr. Donald W. Wadland was born in Detroit, Michigan. He received his B.A. from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, and M.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Dr. Wadland was a general medical officer in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1971. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan and the University of Washington and did a second residency in Family Medicine at the University of Washington. After five years of primary care practice in Alaska and Mount Vernon, Washington, Dr. Wadland completed fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Washington in 1980 and again in 1991. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Wadland practiced gastroenterology in Mount Vernon for many years until joining Northwest Gastroenterology in the spring of 2000. His wife, Kathleen, is a family practice P.A.-C. His hobbies are home renovation, steelhead fishing, boating, and skiing. He has two grown sons and a grandson who is active in football.
