Kevin McClurg was born and raised in Rochester, New York. He attended undergraduate college at Houghton College in New York State. He later completed his Physician Assistant training and Masters Degree in 1986 at Northeastern University in Boston. He worked in surgery and emergency medicine at hospitals in Rochester, New York for 6 years before moving to northwest Washington in 1992. In 2000 he completed a fellowship in liver disease and received additional training in gastroenterology. His practice includes evaluation and medical care for patients with liver diseases as well as patients with general gastroenterology illnesses. He lives in Bellingham with his wife and 2 children (along with 2 dogs, 3 rabbits, 2 guinea pigs, a turtle and some fish). He spends much of his free time with his family, is active in his church, sings with the Whatcom Chorale, is a Cub Scout leader, assists with coaching his sons basketball team and enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and skiing.
